


Alliance for Healthy Community Design – Steering Team Maureen DeCindis As Transportation Planner II for
Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG), Maureen DeCindis coordinates
the bicycle, pedestrian and elderly
mobility planning efforts for the region. She staffs the Elderly Mobility
Stakeholders Group (implements the Regional Action Plan on Aging and
Mobility); the Regional Bicycle Task Force (implements the MAG Bicycle
Plan by developing bicycle facilities and promoting physical activity,
trails, parks, open space, commuter routes and livable cities); and
the Pedestrian Working Group (implements the MAG Pedestrian Plan and
the Pedestrian Design Assistance program). Her previous positions included
Travel Demand Management Consultant, Executive Director of the Health
Fair, Registered Nurse in Intensive Care and a high school teacher.
She has a degree in Education, Nursing and Respiratory Therapy. She
has served on the boards of Tempe Community Council, Governor’s
Bicycle Task Force, Tempe Transportation Commission, Tempe Leadership,
the Advisory Board for Healthy Arizona 2010 and the Arizona State Committee
on Trails.
